All Texas students may submit works of Poetry, Short Fiction, Short Non-Fiction, Collaborations, Art, and Photography for consideration of publication in the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Literary and Art Journal, Sagebrush Review Volume 6. Please note requirements listed specifically in each category (see below). Please submit your work with a SCHOOL EMAIL ACCOUNT.

**We are now accepting foreign language pieces. Please provide your foreign language submission with a translation.

• All submissions must be submitted to http://sagebrushreview.submishmash.com/submit.

PLEASE SUBMIT ONE DOCUMENT PER GENRE (For example, if you are submitting three poems submit all three poems in one document. Do not submit each poem separately.) You may of course submit in more than one category

I. Poetry
• No more than 5 submissions (poems) per person
• No more than 2 pages per submission (poem)
• Enter: 'Poetry Submission' in Subject line of Email

II. Short Fiction
• Limit of 8 pages total.
• All submissions under this category must be typed and double-spaced
• Enter: 'Short Fiction Submission' in Subject line of Email

III. Short Non-Fiction
• Limit of 8 pages total.
• All submissions under this category must be typed and double-spaced
• Enter: 'Short Non-Fiction Submission' in Subject line of Email

IV. Collaborations
• Only 2 submissions are permitted per group. (If text collaboration, no more than 8 pages per submission)
• Can combine any two mediums to create one piece

• All collaborators must sign the same rights statement
• Enter: 'Collaboration Submission' in Subject line of Email

V. Art (drawings, comics, cartoons, photos of original sculptures, photos of original art on canvas)
• Maximum of 5 JPEGS per person.
• If selected, TIFF (tif) or larger file may be requested.
• Enter: 'Art Submission' in Subject line of Email.

VI. Photography
• Maximum of 5 JPEGS per person.
• If selected, TIFF (tif) or larger file may be requested
• Enter: 'Art Submission' in Subject line of Email

Additional General Guidelines:
• All poetry, short nonfiction, and short fiction submissions MUST be formatted in Microsoft Word (97/2000/XP) using 12 point font-Times New Roman. EVERY category requires a cover sheet specifying: genre, submitter's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, title of work submitted, a brief biographical sketch (50 words or less), and rights statement (see below). The submitter's name should NOT appear anywhere on the physical piece(s) submitted, except the cover sheet.

DEADLINE: The deadline for the 2011-2012 journal is February 29, 2012. 

Writer/Artist Notification:
If your work is selected for publication, you will be notified by e-mail no later than April 15, 2012. Please do not contact us; we will contact you.

Should it be accepted for publication by another publisher after submission, I will immediately inform Sagebrush Review via e-mail. By submitting the work to Sagebrush Review, I license Sagebrush Review the right to publish the work in Volume 6. The exclusivity of the Sagebrush Review right shall last for a period of time equal to Volume 6 publication only. At the conclusion of this period of exclusivity, I may submit the work elsewhere for publication consideration. If the work is subsequently published in another forum, Sagebrush Review should be cited as the original publication.
